It’s Cherie DeVille, and today I want to talk about something that has become a deeply personal part of my life…movement.
Not just working out. Not just chasing results. But the way we choose to live inside our bodies. When people think about my routine, they often imagine intensity, discipline, and structure. And yes, those things exist. But what they don’t always see is the balance. The softness. The listening.
Because here’s the truth: no single type of movement works on its own.

What Does My Workout Routine Look Like Right Now?
Right now, my routine is built around consistency and intention.
Every morning, I stretch. It’s the first thing I do when I wake up. Before anything else, I check in with my body.
I also stretch or do a little yoga before every scene. It grounds me and brings me back into myself.
During the week, I split my workouts into two different styles:
Three days of CrossFit
Three days of Pilates
CrossFit gives me strength, power, and heavy lifting for bone and muscle health.
Pilates gives me control, flexibility, and core strength.
And the truth is, neither one works as well without the other.
How Does My Fitness Balance Strength and Flexibility?
Different workouts create completely different experiences in the body.
CrossFit and swing dancing energize me. They wake me up and get me fully engaged. Pilates and yoga ground me. They slow everything down and bring me back into alignment. Weightlifting makes me feel strong. Not just physically, but mentally.
The balance between these is what makes my fitness routine sustainable. It’s not about choosing one. It’s about understanding what each one gives you.
How Has My Gym Approach Changed Over Time?
It has absolutely evolved. I used to be a marathon runner and a step aerobics instructor. Endurance was everything to me. But my body changed. I now have a tear in my meniscus in my right knee, which means distance running is no longer an option.
And instead of forcing something that doesn’t serve me anymore, I adapted. That’s something I wish more people gave themselves permission to do. Your fitness routine should grow with you, not trap you in the past.
What Should You Do When Your Energy Is Low but You Still Want to Move?
On low-energy days, I don’t push. I listen. Stretching is always on the table. Yoga is always there. But one thing I never do is push through pain. Never.
There’s a difference between challenging your body and ignoring it. And I always choose to respect it.
Even if I feel like I should be doing more, my body comes first.
How Do I Use Fitness for Mental Clarity and Stress Relief?
For me, intensity is everything. I want workouts that are hard. Really hard. The kind that force you to be present because there is no room for your mind to wander.
That’s why I loved marathon running. That’s why I love CrossFit now. I want to feel like I’ve given everything. I want to feel exhausted in the best way. Because when I do, everything else disappears. The stress, the noise, the overthinking.
And what’s left is clarity
Is It Better to Follow a Plan or Listen to Your Body During Workouts?
Honestly? Both. I like structure. I like having a routine. It keeps me consistent.
But my body always comes first. If something feels off, I adjust. If I need rest, I take it. A workout plan should support you, not override you.
What Is the Biggest Lesson Cherie DeVille Fitness Has Taught About Consistency?
Perfection is unattainable. Consistency is everything. You don’t need to do everything right. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to keep showing up. That’s where the real change happens.

Why Are Recovery and Rest So Important in Any Workout Routine?
Recovery is not optional. It’s part of the process. I always stretch. I always hydrate. And I never push through pain. Those are my non-negotiables. Because strength isn’t just built in the workout. It’s built in how you care for your body afterward.
What Is the Best Fitness Advice for Someone Still Finding Their Routine?
This is the advice I give all the time: The right workout is the one you will actually do. It doesn’t matter what’s trending. It doesn’t matter what worked for someone else. If you enjoy it, if you’ll stick with it, if it makes you feel good…
That’s the one. Because no workout works if you hate it.
Does Cherie DeVille Prefer Cardio or Strength Training?
If I’m being honest, I love cardio. If cardio did everything, I would probably only do that because it feels so good. But I also know strength training is essential.
Especially for women. After 30, we begin to lose muscle mass. Bone health becomes more important. In my case, osteoporosis runs in my family, so lifting heavy weights is not optional.
So I choose both. Cardio for how it feels. Strength training for what it protects.
What Is the Real Goal of the Cherie DeVille Fitness Lifestyle?
It’s not about perfection. It’s not about doing the most. It’s about feeling strong in your body. Feeling connected. Feeling confident. It’s about balance. It’s about consistency.
And most importantly…It’s about listening to yourself and honoring what your body needs.
